Before you set out, be sure to check the following:
- Weather conditions and forecast
- Boat load and stability
- Life jackets for everyone on board
- Enough fuel in the tank and jerry can
- Engine works properly
- Steering, electrical equipment and batteries in working order
- No fuel or water leaks
- Safety equipment on board
- Bilge water at minimum
- Ventilation working in spaces where fuel is kept
- All gear in the boat fastened properly
- There are current nautical charts in the boat.
