Remove the propeller when servicing the outboard prior to winterisation and apply water-resistant grease to the propeller shaft. Check the propeller for wear and corrosion. You can repair minor damages by filing, for example, but if there are larger damages, we recommend you turn to a qualified professional. If the propeller sustains damage when colliding with a rock or a sunken log or running aground, this is something you are likely to notice when the collision takes place or later due to vibration or a change in handling properties.

NOTE! The vibration effect may be magnified and result in a breakdown of bearings or even the shaft. Thus it is strongly recommended that any such damages be repaired immediately instead of waiting until the end-of-season servicing.
